TERMS OF SERVICE
Aston Energy
Trading name of Radius Services Group Ltd
Last updated: 1 June 2026 Effective from: 1 June 2026
1. Who We Are
Aston Energy is an independent UK energy broker, operating as a trading name of Radius Services Group Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales. Our registered office is 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, United Kingdom, WC2H 9JQ.
Aston Energy acts as a Third Party Intermediary (TPI) in the energy market. We are not an energy supplier. We do not generate, distribute, or sell gas or electricity. Our role is to compare energy tariffs across the UK market, recommend suitable options, and assist clients in switching to a new energy supplier or renewing an existing contract.
Throughout these Terms, "we", "us", "our" and "Aston Energy" refer to Radius Services Group Ltd trading as Aston Energy. "You" and "client" refer to the person or business using our services.
2. Acceptance of These Terms
By engaging Aston Energy's services, contacting us for a quote, signing a Letter of Authority (LOA), or otherwise instructing us to act on your behalf, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service.
If you do not agree to these Terms, you should not use our services. These Terms apply to all commercial and domestic clients, regardless of how you were referred to us.
3. Our Services
As an independent energy broker, Aston Energy provides the following services:
- Comparing gas and electricity tariffs across our panel of UK energy suppliers
- Providing you with a written comparison of available options, including estimated annual costs and potential savings
- Making a recommendation based on your usage profile, contract requirements, and stated preferences
- Managing the switching or renewal process with the energy supplier on your behalf, where you have authorised us to do so
- Monitoring your contract end date and contacting you ahead of renewal to repeat the comparison process
We compare tariffs from the suppliers on our panel at the time of your enquiry. Our panel may change over time as suppliers enter or exit the market, or as we review supplier performance and service standards. We do not guarantee that every UK energy supplier will be included in any given comparison.
4. Independence and Commission Disclosure
Aston Energy operates independently of any energy supplier. We have no ownership ties, exclusivity arrangements, or preferential commercial agreements with any supplier on our panel that would influence the recommendations we provide to you.
4.1 How We Are Paid
Our service to you is provided free of charge. We are remunerated by the energy supplier you switch to, in the form of a commission. This commission is typically calculated as a small uplift on the unit rate (pence per kilowatt-hour) charged over the life of your contract, and is paid to us by the supplier, not by you directly.
This commission does not increase the price you pay. The rates we present to you are the actual rates you will be charged.
In line with Ofgem's transparency requirements and the principles of the RECCo Third Party Intermediary Code of Practice, we will disclose, in writing, the existence and nature of any commission we receive on a given contract before you are asked to confirm your acceptance of an energy supplier's offer. If you would like further detail on how commission is calculated for your specific contract, you may request this from us at any time.
5. Letter of Authority (LOA)
Before we can act on your behalf with an energy supplier, you will be asked to sign a Letter of Authority (LOA). This document authorises Aston Energy to:
- Contact your current and/or prospective energy supplier(s) on your behalf
- Request historical usage data, billing information, and contract terms relevant to your account
- Obtain quotations and, where agreed with you, submit contracts for switching or renewal
An LOA does not commit you to switching supplier or accepting any particular offer. It simply permits us to gather the information needed to provide an accurate comparison. You may withdraw an LOA at any time by notifying us in writing.
Some suppliers require the client to countersign the final contract directly, rather than accepting a contract signed by Aston Energy on the client's behalf. Where this applies, we will inform you and guide you through that supplier's specific process.
6. Our Responsibility, and the Limits of It
Aston Energy will act with reasonable skill and care in comparing the market, presenting accurate information, and managing the switching process on your behalf. However, because we are a broker and not an energy supplier, there are matters that fall outside our control and responsibility.
6.1 Matters Outside Our Control
Aston Energy is not responsible or liable for:
- The ongoing performance, billing accuracy, customer service standards, or conduct of any energy supplier once a contract has been switched or renewed
- Delays, errors, or disputes arising from a supplier's own systems, processes, or internal policies
- Changes to wholesale energy prices, government levies, or regulatory charges that occur after a quotation has been provided
- Any loss arising from inaccurate, incomplete, or out-of-date information provided to us by you or on your behalf
- Continuity of supply, meter installation, or technical matters that are the responsibility of the supplier or the relevant network operator
If you experience a problem with your energy supply, billing, or service after switching, this should, in the first instance, be raised directly with your energy supplier, as they are the party responsible for delivering your energy contract. We are, however, happy to assist in escalating matters where appropriate, and you may also refer to our complaints procedure in Section 9.
6.2 Accuracy of Comparisons
We base our comparisons and recommendations on the information available to us at the time, including data provided by you and information published or supplied by energy suppliers. While we take reasonable steps to verify this information, we cannot guarantee that supplier-published tariffs, terms, or availability will not change between the time of comparison and the time a contract is formally submitted or activated.
7. Your Obligations
To enable us to provide an accurate and effective service, you agree to:
- Provide accurate, complete, and up-to-date information about your energy usage, current contract, and business or household circumstances
- Notify us promptly of any change in circumstances that may affect a quotation, contract, or ongoing service (for example, a change of address, change of usage, or change of business ownership)
- Review any contract or offer presented to you before confirming acceptance, and raise any questions with us prior to signing
- Cooperate with reasonable requests for documentation needed to complete a switch or renewal, such as proof of identity, business registration, or billing history
8. Data Protection and Confidentiality
Aston Energy is registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO, reference ZC176588) as a data controller and processes personal and business data in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
We collect and use your information solely for the purposes of providing our brokerage services, including obtaining quotations, managing the switching process, and monitoring your contract for renewal. We will not sell your personal data to third parties.
We may share relevant information with energy suppliers strictly for the purpose of obtaining quotations or progressing a switch or renewal that you have authorised. Further detail on how we collect, use, store, and protect your data is set out in our separate Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
9. Complaints and Dispute Resolution
We aim to provide a high standard of service at all times. If you are unhappy with any aspect of our service, please contact us in the first instance using the details in Section 13, so that we have the opportunity to resolve the matter directly.
9.1 Our Internal Process
- We will acknowledge your complaint within 2 working days
- We will investigate and aim to provide a full response within 10 working days
- Where a complaint requires further investigation, we will keep you updated and aim to resolve all complaints within 8 weeks
9.2 Independent Resolution
If you remain dissatisfied with our final response, or if 8 weeks have passed without resolution, you have the right to refer your complaint to our Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) provider, free of charge.
Aston Energy is a member of the Energy Ombudsman. ADR membership number: [Insert number once received]. Further detail on the complaints process is available on our Complaints page.
Please note that the Energy Ombudsman and equivalent ADR schemes can only consider complaints about Aston Energy's conduct as a broker. Complaints about your energy supply, billing, or service after a switch has completed should be directed to your energy supplier, who has their own complaints procedure and ADR obligations.
10. Cancellation of Our Services
You may withdraw your instruction to Aston Energy, or revoke a Letter of Authority, at any time prior to a contract being submitted to or activated by an energy supplier, by notifying us in writing.
Once a contract has been submitted to, or accepted by, an energy supplier, cancellation is subject to that supplier's own terms and conditions, including any cooling-off period, exit fees, or early termination charges that may apply under your contract with them. Aston Energy is not responsible for any such fees, as these are determined and applied by the supplier, not by us.
11. Intellectual Property
The Aston Energy name, logo, website content, and any comparison documents or reports we produce remain the intellectual property of Radius Services Group Ltd. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use our materials for commercial purposes without our prior written consent.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time to reflect changes in our services, legal or regulatory requirements, or industry best practice. The most current version will always be available on our website at astonenergy.co.uk. Where changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to notify clients with an active or ongoing instruction.
